Gabe and Lindsay Preview

This weekend I got to do a shoot with some friends of ours Gabe and Lindsay. Lindsay never got to have bridal portraits, so I jumped at the chance to do them! After doing them a few months prior with Sonia, I came to the realization that bridals and weddings are definitely something I would love to have the opportunity to do. I love all the details that go into weddings, so hopefully I will be able to get the chance in the future!! I especially love love love, bridals!! We had sooo much fun traveling all over the DFW metroplex and we found some great locations! Gabe is a photog as well and he was such a great person to be around, he showed me some new tricks that I can't wait to use again!! These two have a great sense of style and this was something that I really wanted to capture in their pics, here is a sneak peek of what we got, hope you enjoy!!

Bailey Seniors 2010 Sneak Peek

Class of 2010! Boy does that make me feel old!! I was so excited to shoot Bailey's senior pics, she is Josh's little cousin and I have known her since she was about 6 or 7!! It is crazy to think that she was so young when we first met and now she is this beautiful young lady with such fabulous style and spunk!! We had a great time exploring Old Downtown Denton, it was my very first time there and I can assure you that I will be going back for more!! Poor Bailey, I had her trekking through weeds, climbing on tires and all sorts of other crazy stuff. Ultimately it led to some great funky and fun shots that I am so in love with!!

Christobo and Andrea Sneak Peek

I was so lucky to do a little photo shoot with some amazing friends of ours, Chris and Andrea! This couple was so very saucy and loads of fun. We drove all around Downtown Fort Worth and found a few spots, next we headed to the Stockyards and eventually we finished up in front of a purple door at the Panda Express : ) It was a cold cold day but we survived and ended up with some great shots!!

I have been so busy these days with work during the week and pics all weekend long! I love being busy, I just wish there were a few more hours in the day because I have gotten myself awfully behind in terms of editing!! Here is a sneak peak of some pictures I had to opportunity to shoot.

I was thrilled when my girlfriend Sonia decided on Monday that she was to get married that Sunday!! I got to help her find her dress, which was stunning, help her pick out flowers and I was given free reign!! She put me in charge of constructing her bouquet and her centerpieces, I had a blast!! I love getting to be creative, it is soooo my thing!! After the wedding was over, we got together for bridals, I was so anxious to shoot them!! We had a limited amount of time and we couldn't go far because we would lose too much light so we stayed nearby, I wasn't sure where we were going to go since there was a change in plans, but we made it work and I loved the photos!! Sonia was such a trooper, she was trekking through overgrown grass and attacking mosquito's every two seconds!! Here are just a few from that evening.

A few weeks back, I was able to take some pics for one of my besties and her two precious little girls. We went to a beautiful little garden in Grapevine that Joanne (shout out :) had suggested and we got some rather adorable pics! Hope that you like!

Hard at work

My goodness, the last few weeks have been a whirlwind! I have had some great sessions to keep me busy on the weekends and here is just a small preview of what I have been up to. Now brace yourself, there are a ton of photos.

This past weekend, I was lucky enough to get the opportunity to have a session with one of my absolute bestest friends in the world, Kim. We had a short amount of time to work with, but we made the most out of that time and boy did we come up with a ton of winners. Here are a few thus far.

Two weekends ago, a college bud of mine, made the long journey from Durango to come and visit the Lonestar state. We had a ton of fun taking pics for her birthday, but boy was the heat beating both of us down. Looking at the pictures, you would have never none that it was boiling hot, great modeling Jess!

One week I decided that I needed to get better acquainted with my new lens, so I quickly picked up the phone to book a weekend session with my handsome cousin Jerel. Although he was hesitant at first, he agreed and we had a great time discovering some of the many wonders Fort Worth has to offer.

This was a session I had with the Karriman family a few weeks ago, I have been hard at work trying to complete work from their session as well, here are a few of the gems. Oh, and congrats to them, there precious ladybug made her arrival safe and sound. She is stunning and I can't wait to take pics of her!

Here is my love. We were snapping a few quick pics for my girlfriends great new product, an all natural bottom and boo boo balm (http://www.sofiandliv.com/) and I captured this pic. Now this one has to be one of my personal favorites of her to date, I love the sweet innocence!

Busy, busy, busy, that's one word that describes how life has been the past couple of weeks! I have been hard at work on editing photos, but not as quickly as I'd like since the computer has been out of commission due to the playroom transformation that has taken place in our home. Hopefully this weekend we can get a big chunk of the room done so I can focus on my pics, and if we don't, I will just stay up into the wee hours of the night as I always do. Anywho, I am excited because I am the owner of a shiny new lens!! I have had my eye on this lens for quite some time and finally decided that it was time to do something for myself. It was shipped this morning and I have only had half an hour at the park to get acquainted with it, but let me tell you, I am already in love!! Layla is so quick these days, it's hard to get a good pic, but here is one that I fell in love with and a sneak peak at the amazingness that is my new lens!

This weekend I got to take maternity and family pictures for some of our really good friends in Downtown McKinney. Let me tell you, the conditions were not ideal in the least bit (106 degrees out) but Carly, Andrew, Boston and Berkeley were such troopers. We had a fabulous time taking pics and exploring the adorable surroundings, we even had a few minutes to cool off and take a look at some antiques. Here is a sneak peak of our session together!

Deep Ellum, Part 1

This past weekend, I packed my camera and and grabbed Lexi for another shoot. We headed down to Deep Ellum for a more grungy and artsy environment. The color was great and the artwork that surrounded us made for some great vibrant pics. For our final shoot in the coming weeks, we will strive for a more tranquil and serene setting, but for now, I present you with Lexi Downtown.

Two In One Night, I'm On A Roll, But I Will Be Hurtin In The Mornin!!

So, I have an amazing husband that is such a wonderful father to our little Layla!! As soon as I stepped in the house this evening, the two were already in the tub rub-a-dub-dubbin away. This has become their nightly ritual and it is so sweet! It gives mommy a little me time to work on my craft and the two of them some bonding time. I walked into the bathroom to say my hello's and distribute kisses, and this is what I saw!! Layla was sporting quite the mohawk. I quickly ran to fetch my camera and began snapping away! She is growing up so fast and we can't believe where the time has gone! She is becoming quite the little star, always talking, singing and dancing these days! It's now 1 in the morning and I should be snoozing away, but I couldn't help but download the images so that I could quickly post them. I photoshopped in record time (there wasn't much to do except lighten them a bit bc of indoor lighting) and viola, I present you , "Girl with mohawk getting her scrub on!" Now I know I will be hurting in the morning when I have to wake up at the crack of dawn, but she is totally worth it!!

Switching It Up For You!

So I finished up yet another shoot with Ms. Lexi and it went divinely, except for the fact that she nearly passed out because of the heat (sorry Lex!). I have been anxious to work on those pics, which I have been, but I decided to take short break (only a day or two, again, sorry Lex, I know you are anxious too!) to work on some pics I had been meaning to work since forever ago when the princess went to the park with her cousin Makyla. I wanted to show a different side, apart from the grungy stuff. But here is a sneak peek of the Lexi shoot!!

I couldn't resist putting this picture up of my precious baby girl sporting mommy's attempt at icing the big goose egg she got after running after me and the toy she so wanted to play with. I felt awful and nearly had a heart attack, I'm convinced it was worse for me than it was for her!! I got her a doc appointment to make sure she was a-okay and she was!

So onto the park pics! This was Makyla's first adventure on the swings and she sure did seem to love it! She was too cute!!

I love to get their adorable little feet hanging! And look at those shoes, so very stylish and cute!

Making Time!

So after nearly two and a half hours and many failed attempts to put the princess to sleep, I give up!! I know the poor kid is exhausted, but she is at that fighting stage and frankly, I'm pooped from running around. So here I sit at my computer, taking a short break from photoshop to post some of the work I did manage to complete last night as Layla runs rampant around the room making a complete mess!! Why is that we spend dollars upon dollars on toys and it's the small stuff that gets them all excited, like the laundry basket, box to my shiny new external hard drive (so needed that one now that the computer is stocked full of pics) and hangers? She is so funny! She is definitely at that stage were conversation is on-going, she is always talking, non-stop, guess she takes after her dad ; ) Yeah right, anyone who knows me, knows that I am the crazy fool who doesn't stop! Gotta love her though!! Every new milestone amazes me and I can't get enough of her!! Well enough of my mommy ramblings, and on to the good stuff!! More Lexi coming your way!!

Trying Very Hard to Juggle and Get Things Done!!

Brace yourself, there are a ton of pics coming your way!! I am so very anxious to complete all the work on the photos I have recently taken!!! Every evening I have been fortunate enough to have an amazing husband who has an awesome routine with the little stinker so that I can have some mommy time and work on my stuff! I have spent at least two hours this evening on pics and I am happy with the turn out so far. Now, it does take me a bit longer than those seasoned photo people, but I am getting so much better everyday. This weekend I was able to take just a handful of maternity pics of Lexi once again, but because of our Gap detour, I wasn't able to get as many as I wanted. Our intention was to head over to the Botanical Gardens, but that did not happen. Instead we decided to stop at a nearby area flanked with beautiful trees, a setting much different than we have been shooting. Like I said, we only had about ten minutes, but I was able to capture a few that we liked.

I loved this whole series of Jamil, I think it captured a little boy being himself.

I am also going to include a few from the previous weekend with Aunt Jo. I tried to go with a more artsy, dramatic flare when editing her pics. I also threw in a pic of the princess, showcasing one of her many adorable scrunchy faces : )

So excited for the weekends arrival!! Yet another shoot with Ms. Lexi but in a totally new location, Downtown Dallas!! This will be our real shoot, all the others, which were real of course, were all in preparation for this day!!! I think we will do a bit of Deep Ellum, the arts district, maybe some Arboretum, who knows!! It will be a great day, I can just feel it!!!

Weekend Preview

The weekend had finally come and boy was I ready for it!!! I had two shoots that I had been preparing for that I was very anxious to do. I took some pre-maternity shots for a lovely and beautiful friend, Lexi, and I say "pre-maternity" shots because this shoot was supposed to be of both her and her son, but those silly four year old boys definitely have a mind of their own with their own thoughts as to how to spend their weekend : ) I did manage to get a few good ones of the ever so handsome Jamil, but I'm not worried because I know we will have many other opportunities to snap away. Lexi was an absolute blast to shoot! We attempted to do a few tame shots at the Canals, but the vibrant colors of my last location with Aunt Jordin suited her personality and style much better.

My shoot with Aunt Jordin was shortened, but no worries, we will finish another day! I was able to snap a handful of good ones in the short amount of time I had that day, ones that I feel radiate Aunt Jordin and all her wonderful-ness ; )

So here I post, just a few pics form this weekend. I can't wait to sit in front of the computer and devote the time I want to, but with a tot that is running around rampant and getting into absolutely everything she can get her hands on, finding time has been just a tad bit tricky. I have worked on them a tad, but am anxious for the weekend to have some mom-time all to myself! Now I understand why photo people have a 2-3 week turn-around for pics, you become so engulfed in the pics, that you could spend hours in front of the computer, leaving a person pooped and wandering to bed at nearly 4 in the morning which is no good with a princess running around!! But anywho, here it goes! Hope that you enjoy and can't wait to post more!!

So this weekend will be a bit busy and for a good reason!! I will be shooting aunt Jordin and one of the hippest cutest kids I know, Mister Jamil!! I can't tell you how excited I am to shoot them! Their fun personalities and sense of style provide me with so much inspiration!! This week has been so hectic that I haven't had a chance to shoot, not even my own princess, I have really been slacking with her lately!! But will get some of her on Sunday when I shoot Jamil, maybe some of them even together, we shall see!! I think our destinations for this shoot will be downtown Funkytown and the Canal in Las Collinas and I'm sure what ever strikes me along the way! Can't wait for the next post and the pics I will have to share. Here is a little diddy of Layla in her new shades, I tried to give the pic that old school flare since her shades channeled fashions circa 1970 : )

I decided to start this blog in order to put myself and my work that I love out there! My camera follows me everywhere I go, and my family and friends sure do know that : ) Photography has always been something that I have been very passionate about and I have decided to move forward with it!! Aunt Jordin....My New Muse

So here goes my first shoot! I had the pleasure of shooting my oh-so fun and oh-so beautiful sister-in-law. I definitely had a vision for this shoot and it was show Jordin and her colorful personality (and hair :) off. I had planned on going to downtown Fort Worth after a quick pit stop near Babe's Chicken in Roanoke. Along the way, we stumbled upon some train tracks with trains covered in graffiti, just what I was looking for!! I know what you maybe thinking, weird, I know, but it was perfect. We got done shooting there and then we were off to Babe's where I had seen some great vintage seats outside that I was dying to shoot. Who would've thought that we would find so much amazing-ness once we reached our destination!! In a one block radius, we were greeted by such vibrant colors that I could not wait to capture! We had a fabulous time, and once Jordin got comfy in front of the camera she did quite splendidly!!! Hope you like!!! Now these are just a few of the million and a half we took : )

I think that this has to be my absolute favorite pic of Jordin that day! Just her being her!

Not quite sure what this thing was but it made for an interesting background that turned into a pretty cool pic!

I really loved the vintage feel I was able to accomplish with this pic, it turned out just the way I wanted! I love that darn umbrella, such a great find at Target, I couldn't wait to incorporate it into our shoot!!
